Install power steering hoses/tubes to steering gear and tighten to 27 ft. lbs..

What is the coupler pinch bolt and where do I get a new one? Is that the bolt that attached the steering shaft to the box?

Yes.
Dealer will have it. 06506950AA

Verify the part number with the dealer.

Looking at the parts book, the input shaft has a groove for the pinch bolt, so the shaft is in effect, keyed to the coupler.
Also, it looks like there is a master spline on the output shaft.

Thanks, any reason I can't use the bolt that is already there?

Well, yeah. The book says to use a new one. It's a critical bolt.

Usually, when they say to replace a bolt, it's because it gets deformed when torqued. (torque to yield)
This is probably not the case here, though. Torque to yield bolts are usually tightened to a specified torque, then turned more to a specified angle.

I would replace it because it says to.

Well the install went ok. My mechanic did it. I get a turn and a half in either direction.

The steering still feels loose but now bumps don't transmit through as much.

Also this is for sure a different box. It fit fine but I think Jeep changed manufacturers. Its painted black, has different part numbers on it and is not Saginaw as far as I could tell. Also there is a different adjustment screw, a flat head instead of an allen fitting.
