Quick towing questions
I will be pulling a covered U haul (5x8) trailer around 400 miles this weekend and I'm wondering if I will need an extender on my 2"receiver so that the trailer don't hit the spare tire?
Anyone ever run into this issue or is it not going to be a problem, i think these trailers have long tongue which would mean it will be a non issuesbut I haven't looked yet. ?
BTW stock rear Sahara tire and stock hitch with a a standard receiver.

There have been several posts recently about Uhaul not renting trailers when towing with a 'convertible'. (even if you have the hard top on). It might be worth a call so you aren't surprised the day of the move...
Depending on the trailer it may be close.
I haul a 6x12 enclosed trailer for work, and for my particular trailer I had to raise the hitch a bit, and it does get awful close to the spare.
The bright side of this is when I'm backing up to the trailer If I overdo it a bit, I just bump the spare with the tongue of the trailer.
It's also so close that I can't open my rear gate with the trailer hooked up.

Glad the tow went well!
The 4-door JK does fairly well. I just towed a 3,700lbs boat with trailer 120 miles. 70mph was no problem.
As to the question about needing an extension...not all draw bars are the same. Some are a bit longer.
Just get the longer one and you're golden.
On a side note, those cargo trays that go in the receiver? Dump the stock square bar and go buy a longer one from your local metal yard.
Drill it to fit a hitch pin and drill it for the new mounting hols and mount the tray to it and have it LONGER than the normal tray. this way it sticks out past the spare tire. make sense?
