It is a glitch in the radio. The radio was not put through it's paces like it should have been. The issue is that the stock radio any model that is installed was not shock tested to take the rougher ride that the JK gives. They tested all the new radios in the commander which has a much smoother ride. It was more cost effective to just let people having problems bring it in rather than issue a recall. Go figure a car company trying to cover there a**. I recommend to all to take your JK in to the dealer and have it replaced with a newer model which is set up with SSD and shock mounts. When the dealer reinstalles the radio they add rubber gromets to the radio mount also. If they do not do this make them do it. You paid good money for your baby and she is worth all the repairs the dealer should make to make her right. My buddy works for a Jeep dealer and he says this happens in 1 of every 12 JK's worse in the Rubi since it has a stronger suspension and rides like a jeep should. either way if you are having issues take it to the dealer and ask them to replace it. If you get a load of bull tell them you are going to report them to the better business bureau they will cave one report and the dealership looses it's 5 star status or will not reieve a 5 star status for 1 year. The one thing Jeeps are know for is the service that you recieve if something is broken. Jeep loyalty is strong and they don't want to lose that. Even if JK's aren't as stylish and flashy as the H2 sorry for using the 2 letter swear word. Jeep owners know Jeeps are work horses and once you own one nothing else compairs. Good Luck to all and may the mud in your treads give you relief from the madness.

Yep, my MyGig does it from time to time.

Usually when it does it, I turn the Jeep on and it may take 20-30 secs or so before the radio powers on.
Once in a while (every 6 months?) it will not turn on at all until I shut the Jeep off and turn it back on a few minutes later.

Doesn't happen often enough that I've needed to worry about doing anything to fix it.

My '09 started shutting off and starting right back up a few weeks ago. Now, it is doing it more frequently. If it keeps happening, I will take it to the dealer. The PITA is that I have to add all my music once again. Oh yea, just yesterday the mygig erased all my satelite preset stations. We'll see how this goes.

I just posted a similar thing last week. Drove to pick up my son, listened to radio on the way, stopped and turned off jeep, returned and drove away, son asks why the stereo is all dark.....no response to power...just black. Cycled the ignition, nothing, drove home, nothing, cycled again, nothing. Pulled the battery pos terminal for 10 secs....came right back. Computer glitch. I have had it for almost a year and not seen the issue before.
