I have an annoying one at ear level - doesn't seem to be anything that the lock adjustment would fix. It sounds like the seat belt adjuster is loose. One of these days I'll pull it apart and look. The stealer "couldn't detect a noise". I guess they sent the deaf guy on the test ride because I can sure hear it!

OK - I just read the entire linked thread and maybe this is the problem. I will try the latch readjustment tonight. This has been going on since May and when I last saw a discussion here, I couldn't beleieve that the sound could travel all the way up from the latch to the b-pillar. I guess it can!

I thought the exact same thing as you do. Mine sounded like the seatbelt adjuster. I tried the striker adjustment and it took care of the problem.

One way to test it is to find a bump that will make the noise every time you drive over it. Pop your door open as you drive over it and see if the noise is gone. If it is then you found the striker adjustment will work. Good luck!

i wrapped electrical tape around the striker to see if that was the prob, no more noise so i adjusted the striker a hair all better...more of a clunk then a rattle

Did the striker adjustment and the rattle is gone! Why the incompetent dealer couldn't do that 6 months ago, I just don't understand. Took longer to go to the basement for the torx wrench than to actually do the fix!

THANKS FORUM GUYS! I HATE RATTLES & SQEEKS!

Default Not just American

heh, it's not just Jeeps that suffer from bad workmanship, I know a lot of Landrover Defender owners back in the UK who can point to a host of things wrong with their vehicles, a general feeling of the thing being thrown together in a hurry. Maybe it's just the nature of the thing, they know these vehicles are going to be used and abused and that the owners (ie. you and me) will put up with more than most other normal car owners. Just note how many times one of us says that this rattles or that rattles, this doesn't fit, that was bent .... but ..... I still love my Jeep !!! ... not much incentive for DC to tighten up on quality control when we will always love our Jeep, no matter what.

I found a spare bolt in the cross brace under the front left seat. It was driving me crazy.

Landrover has the one of the poorest quality control. Jeep was never as bad as Landrover.

Cross off another member to the rattle club. I did the adjustment last night and all seemed well on the drive into work this morning. This forum never ceases to amaze me.
