Realistic off road capabilities of stock '12 JKU Sport?

Is this true? For four door as well as two? I was not aware of this. I have read about people putting rubi springs on non rubi and seeing a slight increase in height, however I had not read the general statement you made about rubi suspension being 2 inches taller. I have a JKU sport and a coworker has a JKU rubi. Both 2012 models purchased at the same time. Other than red colored shocks, I do not see any difference in height.
Just curious of what my new Jeep can and can't do off road.
Also what can I do to make it more capable and still keep my awesome gas mileage?
I don't want a lift or huge tires, I'm thinking of more aggressive tires in the same size and leveling kit.
Anything else I should look into?
Thanks.

Here is an image of the Spider Web Shade JK on a lift and tires BUT no lockers and stock gearing.
I was blown away by what Chris did, this was on Drop Kick out at Area BFE in Moab, not exactly easy stuff.
I have a 2008 stock SportU with the "S" package, which in '08 included 17" wheels, the Rubi suspension, Dana 44 axle w/locking rear diff, e-sway bar and a lot of skid plates. The dealer had added a Mopar front bumper and Mopar 9000 lb winch as options. That's how I drove it off the show room floor. (It had the standard Dana 30 open front axle and 3.73 R&Ps) Final crawl ratio was/is about 40:1.
I didn't change much over the past four years:
- I spend a lot of time in the Anza Borrego Desert, so I had the top painted "stone white" which matches the body and keeps the inside about 30 degrees cooler. I also added a Hot Head roof insulation kit.
- The most costly change I made, the day after I bought it, was to change out the stock tires for Goodyear Silent Armor tires. These are the best AT tires I have ever run. They have two steel bands and one Kevlar band. I air them down to 15-20 psi
and I have never had a problem. They are excellent on road, silent running, excellent gas mileage. They are also top rated for ice and snow duty. Off road they are good in sand and mild rock duty. They suck in mud. I have 30K miles on them and they still look good. I highly recommend these tires. In the stock 17" size they run about $175 per tire, but I have seen the cheaper on sale.
- The e-sway bar failed, out of warranty, and Jeep wanted $2K to replace it. I installed the EVO manual system for about $100.
- I also added a Day Star leveling kit. Looks good, no ground clearance increase.
I have been to Moab, Arch Canyon, up to 13,411' on a trail between Ouray and Telluride, CO. and I run the desert trails almost every week. Bottom line: you will be able to keep up with the Rubicons in most trail situations except rock crawling, deep mud and really steep inclines. Their locking Dana 44s and
73:1 crawl ratio make a big difference in these situations.
Like most things in life, it's all a function of money. The more you have, the more you can do.

I would check out this review, LINK-->2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport [w/videos] it is really good and shows the stock Sport offroad with video
This is a picture from the review so you can tell if you have already seen it

You would be surprised just how much you can do with that stock sport!!! Just go and find out for yourself you would be amazed, just watch out for the deep water you will be fine, just don't wheel alone!
Received some excellent advice on my first offroad experience "Your Jeep is more capable than you are". This stood true for me, every time I thought threre was no way we would make it, we did. Keep in mind that mine is bone stock aside from 33" tires.
