Even though the headrests are not removable, you can make it so they stay folded back down and out of your line of sight. Get a couple black rubber tie down straps and just hook one end to the headrest post, fold it down backwards, then hook the other end to the d-ring on the floor in the back right behind the seat. Very simple and works great! Don't have to cut or wreck anything.

Ooops. Sorry, my JK is a 2009 so I don't know if they changed the headrests on them at all.

There are no dumb questions. I believe this thread eventually figured out a way to permanently remove the rear headrest.

Can't be done? Disagree. I took a stab at it today and SUCCESS! It is not easy. First you gotta get the headrest itself off the bracket. Unclip the bottom and reach in. On each of the 2 posts, there is a button clip push thing, push em and pull off headrest. Next you gotta unzip the seat covers and pull them all the way up. Then u can separate the foam from the seat frame a lil bit. There are 2 bolts holding the headrest bracket in. Take em out and the whole bracket will pull out. Then pull the seat covers back over and zip it up. It was a PITA but im glad I did it. Hope this helps...
