Use a bungy cord to hold them down.

It's like pickick said. I have a 2011 sport with cloth seats and there are releases. The degree of difficulty varies on passenger and driver side in my JK. There are two attachment rods about 1/4". One shaft has a button readily apparent for adjustment and the other one has a button under the top plastic washer. Push in on both buttons towards the shaft. Of course it's hard to get your hands in there. and use your hands to push the headrest up. Once you get some space it's easy to see the latches and remove the headrest. One side of mine had some alignment, tolerance issues and was much harder than the other.

I would guess that other seats would have a similar arrangement.

Cool thanks to all.... I've been trying for 2yrs now and no luck. Someone told me the airbags might go off or be affected so I stopped trying!!

Any law against removing them???? I'm in Canada. Thanks again to all.
