They should have done the break in, but it varies between manufacturers. Hawk says 6-10 mild stops from 35 and 2-4 harder stops from 50.

Would better brake lines make the brakes better ? We are talking about the brake lines that connect to the caliper right ?

Replacing rubber brake lines with stainless steel is an upgrade to your braking system. The rubber lines can expand a little under pressure, the SS won't. If you are completely stock as far as weight and tire size you may feel a little difference. If you have larger tires and lots of other weight you may not feel any improvement. Most change to SS brake lines when they lift yo get a longer line for there new flex
