rear seat differences 2012 vs 2013+?
So I'm trying to figure out what is so special about 2012 that it's omitted by almost all when listing rear seat covers? Btw, I'm specifically looking at the 4 door rear split bench.

The front seats were re-contoured in 2013. I am not positive, but would guess there was slight re-contouring with the rears as well, making the covers just slightly different. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the '12 shared the same seats as the '11......and that was one thing that wasn't updated right away when the 3.6L and other updates happened in '12.

07-12 seats are identical, but the 11-12 years got new headrests. The headrests covers are like $25 from Bartract, or you can just run without them.
13-17 JKs got entirely new seats. I am fairly certain that the rear bench is similar enough to the old ones that the covers would fit but not very well.

So I took a gamble and ordered the 2013+ seat covers. They fit like a glove - including the head rest.
With one exception. On 2012's (not sure about 2011's) the way to fold them is by pulling a "rip cord" on the lower outside portion of the seat. On the 2013+ seat covers it's covered as it seems that the way to fold them is by pulling on something on the top of the seat.

Y, on the '13+ there is a lever on top of the seat back. Interesting. I didn't realize the earlier models method of engaging the fold was different. Looks good.

The front seats in a 2012 and 2013 definitely have a different foam structure. I would think the fitment is not going to be as good as in that rear seat above.
