It might be handy to have one of those little gas powered heaters mounted on the ceiling of the hardtop. Push the button and it starts and runs for some set time to warm the JK up and defrost the windows. They made the air cooled bug much much warmer and actually defrosted the windshield. Otherwise one drove with one hand on the wheel and the other on the scraper.

The diesel JK's can use the existing diesel fueled mini heaters made by several manufacturers for trucks and boats. But since we can't have diesels in North America.....

I like the truck/boat heaters that circulate the coolant to heat the engine block and cab. But I don't think gasoline fueled heaters are available any more.

My old '56 Beetle had one of those heaters.

Is that what I saw parked at the back of the barn when you changed my PCV and Serpentine?

No. That's a 2001 Golf TDI. I've got the transmission out for a clutch change.

Now, the engine parts you saw in the shop down cellar are from the old '56 I mentioned. I had it in high school back in the late '60s.

Default Love my remote start option.

The remote start option does a real good job getting the Jeep warm before going outside, just gotta' remember to leave the heater on high and defrost selected when you get out.

Yes, it does a good job, but it's not good for the engine.

It's not good for the engine to drive it either. Wears it out.I don't think it will do too much harm warming up the engine. There are jeeps idling in summer heat in heavy traffic longer than my jeep runs to warm up. Besides that my moto is "If it can't get it, it can't stay".

Lifetime Powertrain Warranty!! I could leave my Jeep idling for the next 30 years and it would only cost me the gas and oil changes!
