Replacement Air Filter
I had a drop in filter in my 04 Unlimited (auto) and it seemed to make the engine run smoother. I put a CAI on my Charger RT (auto) because the Hemi loves to rev and it seems like most of the power come on in the mid to high rpm's. Now I have a Jeep with a motor that loves to rev w/ a 6sp, now I don't know. Am I going to feel $200. worth of a difference between a drop in or a CAI. I must be tired I'm babbling on..........must.........drink..........coffee.... ...
Redundant but,...
I forgot that I even signed up for this, but K & N just sent me an email telling about the release of their new Air Filter and Oil Filter. Just showed up about an hour ago.

What is it about K&N drop in filters that make them better? Not being sarcastic at all, I'm kludo. Is it more airflow alone? Would I have to buy the cleaning/maintenance kit when I buy one?
You wouldn't need a cleaning kit right away. If you pop open your air box and look at the factory filter, it's pretty thick and very restrictive. Compare that to one at the auto parts store to see the difference. I would like to see a dyno sheet from a comparison of the two.
Stopped in an Advance Auto Parts today to ask about drop in K&N. They parts guy was looking it up in the book. I noticed he was looking at the 06's. Once I told him again it was an 07 he said he knew. He told me they were the same. So I told him they were different. He then said the 06 Rubicon had the same engine the 07's do. I started to correct him and he said he does this every day for a living. I then realized he was an idiot and walked out the door.
