Roll Bar Cover Replacements
I have been planning to put mine though the wash with a pack of the Rit Dye from the grocery store...hum glad I read the post about the landromate...I would have had to run several empty loads to get all the dye out. What kind of dye di you use?
Anybody got any better suggestions in the next three weeks I would be happy to read about it

Or you could go custom like I did... Cheap if you know someone with a sewing machine and knows how to use it... It's hard, just takes patients to sew the fabric to the factory skin. Don't bother trying to take the factory one apart and making a pattern, you probably wont get it back together right.

Why Zebra for mine? Simple, my Jeep will eventually be getting the full Expedition treatment... When I think of an Expedition vehicle I think of the old Rovers in Africa with the Zebra Stripes on them...

Okay that's totally bad ass.
Looks like i'll be re-covering mine with some type of animal print vynil when mine get that bad. I'm thinking alligator, maybe snake skin print vynil
First headrest covers, then netting, then tire covers, now roll bar padding? i'll give it a try sometime

Oh, no vinyl here my friend... Strait up fur! When I pimp, I slap a ho hard! LoL

But for Snake and such vinyl would be best... I think its best to keep to a "trim" level though... I don't plain on adding any more Zebra to the inside, maybe just a touch to the doors or something. Maybe the center area of the seats if I got real ambitious...
Greetings. My 2007 JK spends a lot of time with the soft top down, and unfortunately, my roll bar pad covers have gone from black to gray, likely due to lack of a UV protection. I've looked around for replacements, but cannot not find any online.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, hopefully to some with UV protection?
tks SRM

I've tried all the solutions. RIT dye doesn't work so don't waste your time with it. Spray painting the originals with black fabric paint is effective just as the previous post stated. I use the spiderwebshade on hot days which wore down my rear roll bar cover from rubbing in the wind so eventually replaced mine with the Rugged Ridge replacements bought from Amazon. First I tried the Poly for around $80 -- they sucked. Arrived and appeared to be made from poly from two different lots so looked somewhat like patchwork quilt -- then faded within a month (unevenly at that). Exchanged for the Rugged Ridge vinyl roll bar cover (around $118) and quite happy with those (they are like the soft top material and I'm guessing won't fade since the soft top hasn't). I have reviews on Amazon for the 4 door replacement covers (both poly and vinyl) with pictures so go there for full reviews.
