Default Roll Bar Pads

OK so i took a look through the boards and couldn't find a topic so I thought i would start one. Although i am not new to Jeeps, i am new to the JK. This comfort think has got me confused as my 79 CJ5 doesn't have these pads thing on the roll cage. The pads on the "roll cage" have several flaps etc that i can't seem to determine what they are for. Can i get some help?!

The attached picture shows the rear angle down tube covers and a flat that seems to be a Winchester Mystery! Can i get some help?

They are there so you can take the pads off. 99% chance though that the bars aren't fully painted so they look dumb.

Looks like an excellent place to install brackets.

If you have a soft top the brackets connect to the roll bar there.

the zippered pads work really good for running/hiding wires to any accessories. I ran wires through mine to add foot well lighting on the same circuit as dome light. There is one member on here with a dark green 2dr JK that has the bar pads removed, looks awesome! Very utilitarian but clean
