Default Rolling side windows

Good morning everyone,
I am a new jeep owner and I have lots of questions, but the most pressing one at the moment is about rolling up my side windows.
I purchased a bestop cover for my hard top and it came with a very nice bag to store my soft top windows. It has fabric panels inside to separate the windows and you roll the whole deal up and attach to the roll bars. My problem is that the when I put the side windows into it, I was afraid to roll it up. The plastic strip along the bottom of the window made it very difficult to roll and I was afraid of damaging it so it would not fit back into thehttps://www.jk-forum.com/forums/images/smilies/embarrased.gif
channel. Is it ok to roll for short times.
I would rather just leave the windows at home when I head out, but , as the saying goes, "If you don't like the weather in New England, just wait a minute". Every day for the last 2 weeks it has been in the 90's with thunder storms rolling around everyday. I know it's a jeep thing, but I hate lightening and I don't want to get my interior wet.
Thank you for any input you have for me. By the way I have a dark blue 2008 Jeep wrangler unlimited without pictures

I have been rolling mine for a year with no ill effects. I have even had them rolled up for a month at a time and still no problem.

i've had 'em rolled up for a long time in some serious heat. no issues w/the plastic strip or any warping etc. don't sweat it. they're cheap enuf to replace anyways if they get muffed.

Before we bought our current house I used to keep mine rolled ALL of the time. The first few times you roll them they'll be hard to roll, but they get easier over time.

Pulled my carpet and drain plugs and let the windows lay flat at home now!

I was terrified when I first started rolling my windows but they don't come out any worse for the wear. Actually, the plastic strip gives you a good solid base that you can roll other than crimpling the windows themselves. Put the back window horizontal and then the side windows vertical with fabric between them all.

I used to roll the windows in beach towels. The clover patch roll works great!!! Worth every penny...:-) http://www.links4jeeps.com/writeups/cloverpatch/
