Default Rubi lockers question...

Used my lockers today to get up a slick mud hill. Afterwards I disengaged them and the front light went right out immediately but the rear kept blinking.

A little later it was easier going and I now shifted from 4 low to 4 hi. Rear locker still blinking all the while. Then 2-3 mins later the trail ended. Now I shifted into 2wd because I was turning onto pavement. The light for the rear was still blinking and the rear seemed like it was still locked up, I could here it dragging through the turn.

I rode maybe 1/4 mile now on pavement in 2wd and the rear light was still blinking. I stopped to get out and walk around, shutting the vehicle off. When I restarted it later the rear light finally stayed out and everything seemed normal.

Does it typically take more than a minute to disengage? This was like 4-5 minutes of driving and it never went out, including driving forwards, backwards, 4 low, 4 high, and a 1/4 mile on pavement in 2wd all after shutting it off. This is only the second time I have used my lockers in my 4 month old 2011 Rubicon and I'm now nervous wondering if one will get stuck on when I have to take a long highway drive home from the trail.

Can anyone comment on if this sounds normal?

After 4 years with the Rubicon, the lockers still puzzle me. I know how and when to use them, but they don't always respond the same way. One thing I know, don't attempt to run locked in 4 hi.

I had my front stick on "locked" for me one time. Kinda scared me for a bit, but I just stopped & tried it a few more times. I think I might have even backed up a bit.

I almost think its from not using them alot. I've turned mine off & on once in a while in a parking lot, just to "cycle them" & they seem to be fine now.

Perhaps they need to break in?

Exercising them once a week sounds like a good idea.

Yes, and unless you hack the stock computer set up you cannot lock the diffs in 4 hi even if you try to turn them on.
