Rubicon Axle Housing Snapped!
#21
Holt Sh@t Greg,..trying Lake Christe in the Snow & Ice is crazy....the battle of the tire's not the Rubi's ability. Dean snapped his housing just like yours, hit a Rock on his climb I think last year. I would play the Insurance card, you slipped in a ditch, hit a Big Rock & that's what happened. Glad I missed this trail ride. I think I'll wait ti'll the weather breaks so I don't break.

So assuming I can't get it replaced under warranty..
How hard is it to bolt one of these replacements on?
http://www.quadratec.com/products/52446_101.htm
Or How hard is it to get a new $700 housing and replace all the insides?

There must be some advantage to having the DANA axles wtf it really should not have snapped like that...there is a definite issue with the axle . I most surely would call Chrysler and not give up without them fixing that under warranty. DON'T GIVE UP!
Fight it they are trying to stare you down and I would also take it to another dealer if you get nowhere with yours.

you have stock tires too???
go to the dealer and start a BIG BIG comotion, they have no reason not to cover it, an axle tube shouldnt snap like that, tell them you want to talk to the owner and file an official complaint and tell them to give you the information to do so and to contact Chrysler

With something that that its not really up to the dealer, its up to the dealer rep. and chrysler and if they warranty that your one lucky guy. Oh and from what i've seen yelling and screaming usally get you nowhere.

Well the deal is i got no where with my dealer.. So i took it to a dealer that is suppose to be 'wheeler friendly'. They both said that they cannot warranty it because their is 'impact damage' I could send it to every dealer in PA and get the same answer from all of them no matter how much commotion i make. And all of that towing is definfitly not cheap. I guess my next step should be to contact Chrysler. But i doubt i will get anywhere with them. I will try calling Dana also. I am pretty frustrated right now.
