I had a problem like this with just my rear locker. There was something broken or warn out on the inside of the differential. Had to take mine to the dealer. Good luck.

i not sitting there i have been moving in every direction to try and get them to engage. i should mention that jeep is completely stock.
i was thinking that i would start troubleshooting today by applying voltage directly to the lockers and see if that works. then maybe a test light on the wiring. that should narrow it down a bit.
does anyone know if the rear has to be engage before the front will engage? if that is the case my front might be fine but because rear is not engaging computer will not let front come on?

make sure that it is engaged dont trust the blinky lights. what year is the jeep? I did not use my lockers too much up here in Canada over the winter and they were slow to engage for the first time this summer, maybe its just having a hard time lining up. Have you done anything to the diffs? Where were you trying to engage them? ie tight turn. I found that mine were really senstive to different axle speeds when it was new, wouldnt lock/unlock unless it was perfect. had lots of trouble on the trail , unever ground till the diff got worn in a bit.

Gah! I hate the idiot lights.

My goofy rear locker locks up, but the light never stops flashing these days. I finally covered the annoyance with a bit of black electrical tape on the dash.

My new Aussie front locker doesn't cause me these difficulties.

jeep is a 2007 bought if off girl who never ever even put it in 4wd, so never ever used lockers either. lockers are for sure not engaging.

question. does the rear have to engage before the front will engage. wondering because if there is a problem with the rear and the computer will not even try the front.

I dont beleive so, I've had my front one lock befor my rear one, they just share a common switch. I've had them unlock the same way as well.

Change the diff oil, and use synthetic for the e-lockers.

You might have to pull the covers off and clean everything. Mine started to act up in the rear and a cover pull clean out and new fluid fixed it.

Make sure you get the correct wt diif oil as the rear is different than the front for a rubi axle.

so i pulled the diff cover and did some poking around. i am getting voltage at the locker when i engage it but nothing is moving. it will pull into the slot if i turn the wheels but i can only engage the locker by pushing the plate in with a screwdriver. i think my magnets might have crapped out what do you guys think? is there issues with the electromagnet wearing out?

changed fluid to will see if that makes any difference, old fluid was not looking good. so you guys are running synthetic? in the manual it shows 80x-90 front and rear or for towing synthetic 75w-140 in the rear
