On the 2012 models the difference is color. The sport ones are bright aluminum while the rubicon are somewhat tinted a very light charcoal color. I wish they were darker. It's hard to tell the difference unless you are looking side by side.

What the hell I thought the 07-2012 sport (with 17inch rims) and the Rubicon rims 07-2012 were the same (MOABS) unless you bought a black OPS edition them they are MOABS with a charcoal/darken color.hmmm and obviously the 2013 Rubi has way different wheels. I love my 2013 Rubi

I thought the newer Sports had 16", Rubicon 17" and Sahara had 18" wheels. When we bought ours I was surprised at all the wheel sizes. Tire manufacturer's charge plenty for 17,18,20" tires compared to the classic 15 & 16".

For 2012, the Sport S and the base Rubicon shared the same 17" aluminum wheels with different tires.

Not really. They had slightly different finishes. 17"sport was shiny aluminum. 17" rubi was very slightly darker.
