My 2013 is doing this too. What is "burping" the system mean? Any news on if this fixed the noise?

Run the engine with the radiator cap of and see if it releases and air that was trapped. You may need to add more coolant after it "burps". I would turn the heater on too since it sounds like the air is getting in there.

If you switch to one of the lever vent style radiator caps, you can get rid of this problem very easily. Just get it good and hot, and then flip the lever up. The aerated coolant will rush out into the overflow (burp!). Keep an eye on the overflow bottle, and just flip the lever back down before it gets to the point of overflowing.

The Jeep will suck the coolant back in from the bottom of the overflow bottle as the engine cools, leaving the air up at the top of the bottle and not in your heater core.

You might have to do it a few times, but it will work (and much safer than running it in your driveway with the radiator cap off!).

Disclaimer - I'm not responsible if the safe operation of a lever vent radiator cap is something that is beyond your technical skill level and you somehow wreck yourself doing this. Also, please remember that our furry friends think engine coolant is delicious. Clean up any spilled coolant immediately so that they do not wind up poisoning themselves!!

Good luck!
Tom
