That sounds like a solid solution... Can you pick the undercoat up at any local parts store ?

Great solution as I have to sand and spray BBQ after each winter. This sounds solid, can you throw a name of the undercoat you use?

I've been hoping and waiting for my exhaust to rust through so I have an excuse to go aftermarket, but it hasn't yet.

Darn Chrysler - shipping vehicles with stainless exhausts.

Flat Black ceramic header paint. I have NEVER had a rusty exhaust on a JK with this paint. One application to a new JK exhaust, never needs a re-application to far.

Picking up my 2012 JK next week- already have my ceramic paint ready.

X 2 on that. I tried the BBQ flat black paint and noticed that it stained very easily and it started to come off from the right side of the muffler where it appears to be the hottest. I removed the entire muffler which is not that difficult, sanded it, and sprayed it with a gloss black header paint. So far it's lasted as good as day one and it doesn't hold dirt stains at all.
