You sure can, All the AEV rigs run at least a 35 on most there rigs.
And the dealer cant say much about your tire selection especially as far as a mod is concerned!! I would buy the tire you want not what they want. Like i said in my first post the dealer offered to change out my stock tires to a 265-70-17 for free the only reason they would not do 33s or 35s was the cost difference. And they did terra because they have a special deal with Nitto.
Do what you want! And a 285 is not gonna be much of a noticable difference

The only reason why Im trying to stay within stock range is because the dealerships manager said if something happened the bigger tires could void my warranty. But this was after I already bought the Jeep even tho before the purchase the service dept. said it would be fine. Im not sure if the extra weight will cause any problems or not and Im only worried cuz Im running the 3.21 gear ratio.
But if it wont cause any problems I would rather spend a little extra and run the 285's.

I run 305/70/16's with 3.21 gear ratio and I didn't even notice an impact, you will be fine with a 285/70/17. And the dealer could only use the tires to void warranty if they can prove the tires were at fault. If your really worried keep your stocks to put on when going to the dealer

Thank you for all the help everyone. I'm glad I didn't get the 255 tires last week like I wanted to. I'm going to get a procal and go with the 285's. I just have to wait for it to come in now.

I believe that you will need at least a teraflex leveling kit to avoid hitting the fenders, I have the savegre wheels, 285/70/17 duratracs and the teraflex leveling kit, no rubbing at all.
