Ha!!!!!! Mine does the same thing. Thought it was my wife f'ing with me for the longest time. Then I asked her and she thought I was crazy. Anyway, mine still does it after 3+years, and would welcome a fix if anyone has one.

weird.. never heard of this problem. Maybe try taking apart the seat and checking the innards?

This is pretty common, there are a few threads about it already.
Mine does it also, seams to leak back down faster when the weather is hot, but that might be my imagination.

Its happens when I get out and in of the jeep and my butt/leg catches the handle and pushes it down.
Supposedly there is a way to remove the handle so it stops happening

Could it be from sliding your bum out of the seat and pushing the handle down? I noticed the fabric is starting to get lighter where the handle is which tells me a tear won't be long behind. I have been trying to make a mental note to climb out not slide out.
