Default Seat problem

Am now getting the pass seat light on the display, it thinks someone is there without seatbelt on. The seat is empty. I have shook the connections and wiggled the sensor to no avail. I’m thinking bad sensor, what about you guys?

Unless you've been fiddling around with wiring looms and such, that would seem like the most obvious place to start troubleshooting. What an odd sensor to randomly fail.

Kind of what I thought. I guess there's a sensor for the weight in the seat and one for the seat belt latch, do any of you know if this is correct?

I wonder what #8 is in this diagram. It's totally left off the list -

Almost looks like a little button on top. I've never really looked at that sensor under my seat. Kinda curious about it now. Unfortunately I have a compressor under my passenger side and lockbox under my driver.....so outside of yanking a seat no access to really look at mine.

Have you installed an amp or mounted a compressor under the passenger seat? I started noticing the same issue after I installed my amp. The wires are a little touchy under there.

No didn't install anything just started out of the blue. I don't have anything under the seat. If the weather clears up this weekend I'll pull the seat and check out the sensors and wiring.

just saw this on the JP Magazine feed to my facebook.
If the airbag light is going on and off (and dinging annoyingly every time), dust has chewed up the clock-spring sensor in the steering wheel. If the light is solid, it could be the clock-spring or a bonafide airbag malfunction. Typically, if the airbag light is on, the airbags are not going to deploy unexpectedly, but rather, they won’t deploy at all, even if you need them.
I wonder if this is covered by the extended warranty that I got the letter about a few months ago? Anyone have experience with this?

I know there was a clockspring recall on my ‘07. Just check with your dealer. I went to get mine done a couple of years ago, but he said there was going to be a small wait on parts. I just passed on getting it done. It flashes every so often, but I don’t think much about it.

Mine does just what the quote says, it comes on with a ding and then it will go off and come back on and ding again, very annoying.

OK Just got back from the dealership and yes it was the clockspring. They happened to have one in stock so fixed it right then under the extended warranty. For once got great service from my dealer. Thanks for the input guys.
