Default serpentine & idler/tension pulley ... wanted to share.

Thought I'd share with ya'll.

So when my engine was replaced at 10,000 miles I got it back with a funny squeak, super loud whine (thought it was coming from tranny) Thought nothing of it, until this .... at 20,000 miles. It was replaced under warranty thank god.

I lost my belt in Kansas City, MO. It was the least to say an eventful day on my drive back from Georgia.

BUT ........ the thing I wanted to share was that when my pulley and belt were replaced ... my jeep was as quiet as could be. It was like driving a new jeep from the dealership that day after being fixed.

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, so I just wanted to put it out there, the symptoms of a sick jeep with this problem.

I had mine go bad too, I ordered the part myself and replaced it, BUT when I tightened the bolt to factory specs it snapped, of course its a special bolt. I was at work doing it in parking lot so I took my work vehicle over to the local jeep dealer and the parts guy said no way we have one in stock, but go see Joe he's our wrangler mechanic and he keeps all kinds of bolts in his tool box. HE found me one thank god, I was going on weekend trip right from work oh and he didnt charge me anything.

this is why I didnt bother to try getting in warrantied

Yikes. I'm glad you made it back to Washington. Hopefully, your string of bad luck will end.
