The salesman and I came to a price that suited us both, then came the FINANCE manager. He added $6000 to the bottom line for a 6 year/60,000 mile extended warranty, and insisted I needed the warranty to cover all the electronics that are going to fail when the jeep hits 36,001 miles. My first reaction was to get up and walk out! But I politely said "no thank you, I should be ok with the factory 36/36,000." Wow, the evil side came out and the big buddy smile turned to a f... y.. Face. Again, my gut told me, it's not to late, get up and walk out.

My concern now is evil finance manager sabotage.
I had the same thing happen.. only difference is I started getting calls after the purchase- NASTY.. I had 3 options at purchase - Dealer offer, Buying Service Price, and my company's Vendor deal - "I will pick which ever was cheapest" were my exact words, "We can beat the cheaper of the other 2 by $1000" was what I got in reply.. And they did.. Vendor Price was the discount plus any incentive at the time, so them beating that by $1000 was a steal.. so I went with the Dealer offer.

Two days later the first of many calls came in.. "We need your Vendor control code..so we can recoup our money, and we forgot to get it from you.." WHAT!! - after about 10 nasty calls, I told them no dice, that's not the deal you made - and I will not be coming back - free oil changes and state inspections be damned..

Default Shady finance managers

I completly concor. My blood pressure has been doing well lately, until I went and showed just a little smidgen of interest in the littltle brown jeep. Dang if I didn't get four calls today about the extended warranty program, they ring, I answer, say hello can I help you. The haggling starts again..

I'm really thinking of using another jeep service dealer. The hole facility is a little on the flighty side.
Good luck man!!!!

Those finance mangers make a lot more money than the salesperson,. Living the big city life, can be expensive. IMO

The haggling with the salesperson is fun and adventures, especially when the deal is almost ready, and "wait a minute, I have a low mileage 1999ford contour, that I need to bring in with the trade."

Sorry for the bla bla.
