Default Shift knobs

Quick question,
I recently purchased a center console with arm rest.
I cannot seem to get the shift knobs off.
Any ideas.
Thank you,

Manual or auto?

I see it's a 6 speed.... Take an adjustable wrench and tighten it so that it is loose ove rthe stick, but sits under the knob... Take a hammer or mallet and tap the wrench upwards to "gently persuade" the knob off the top of the sticks...

Note: I haven't done this muyself, but it is how others who have have been saying it's done easiest...

Like he said. Just pull firmly on the knob. It feels like it ain't gonna move (no play whatsoever) but then all the sudden breaks loose.

Thank you,
The bottom of the shift knob is a retaining collar. Pop it off (down) with a screwdriver and then pull off the knob - popping off the retaining collar makes it much easier to pull off the top. Once you remove the retaining collar it doensn't take much force to pull the top off. I messed with mine for half an hour before I realized that the retaining collar was there.

I had to do no such thing. Just simply pulled mine up and it came off with just a smidge of effort. Sounds like some people have knobs that are on pretty tight.
