Those seals will break in, I noticed every time mine were replaced in attempts to fix water leaks that the doors closed hard for a period of time. Eventually they get to a certain amount of pliability but the air pressure will not allow closure too easily.

If you want to verify that the door is properly aligned and adjusted, open a window and try each door, that removes the air resistance factor.

i had the same experience when i first got my jk. When I had it serviced I asked the dealer guys about it and they said that it was just because the seal is "heavy Duty" and not to worry. It eventually kind of broke in, and (although it requires more strength than your average car door to shut) now it closes more easily.

I have noticed it on mine, especially on the driver's side front door. I took it to the dealer and it was found that the gasket/seal was fine and they didn't want to mess with it really because of the leaking issues. It has my door kicked out about a .25" and they really didn't have many solutions. They told me they would order me a new door but I don't know if I really want to go that far or not. My luck the paint will be different and won't match or something. I just don't know if I want to go to all that trouble or just keep slamming the doors.

as hard as it is to believe that they are air tight...they are probably the closest thing youll find. I only learned this when I had the jeep running (remote start) put my 6 month old in his car seat in the back (4dr) and closed the door. Before I could get into the front my ned flanders neighbor started yapping away with what should have been a 30sec convo turning into 10 minutes. The whole time I am literally standing right next to the jeep by the drivers door. Radio volume was on like 6 or 8 at best.

When Ned was rounding out the 10th minute I took a peek into the window for the third time and noticed my sons legs kicking, and arms floppin around (usual baby movement while crying) however I didn't hear a damn thing from 8 inchs away doors closed. As soon as I opened the door not only did I hear it but so did ned. Needless to say he keeps his mouth shut whenever he sees me leave the house with my son. Just a simple hello or head nod.

I always thought it was funny how you have to slam the doors and then the doors pop right out when you push in the button.

The first time my buddy opened the passenger door it smacked him right in the face.

I told him he had to ride in back because of that.
