I was putting my CD case away last night and noticed there were 4 notches or slots at the top of the opening. Almost as if they were for a drop in tray of some kind. I don't have any such tray. Was I supposed to get one with my JK? Anyone else notice this?

Depends on your year, if I am not mistaken the 09 is the first year for the tray as well as the little net in front of the gear shift.

I dont have pictures, but on my 09 on the little pannel at the bottom of the center stack I have a little mesh strechy net, great for holding cell phone, but thats it. I believe it is on the 09s only as well as the center tray and the fact my freedom top front latch has been moved foreward.

Mines a late build '08 so I might have gotten a center console insert and just not the tray. I've seen the net he's talking about and it is pretty useless. I plan to use that area for the Daystar rocker switch pannel for my lights and such. I'll try and get a pic of what I'm talking about tonight.

Can that tray come out? Thats where I put my cb. if that doesn't come out then there wouldn't be enough room. That s_cks

Yup, the tray lifts right out to give you room to use the whole console if you wish.
