Default Smoking?

So this morning it was pouring when driving to work. I mean POURING!!!! I went into the parking garage and noticed my hood was smoking or steaming. Looked like it was coming from the radiator up front. Is this normal cause its a brand new jeep and I never noticed this before? Thanks guys!!!

I had this happen a few times too. Sometimes whens it wet or damp or humid I get a smokey steam from the front.
Ive checked everything and even had my mechanic at work take a looks. Everythings fine. Just seems that the perfect combination of humidity and temp create this.

Sorry man, sounds like your JK is on the way out. The steam is an indicator of a cracked radiator - major issue.

Just kidding - happens to me in the rain, after car washes, for no reason, etc.

Don't worry, they all do it. My theory as to why steam rising up from the front of the JK on wet days is so noticable is:

a) The big, upright grill with large openings means rain & water gets into the radiator fins very easily and starts steamimg, and

b) Because the high-flow electric cooling fan only comes on intermittantly (unlike older vehicles where the belt-operated fans were always turning) air isn't always being drawn in through the radiator fins taking the steam with it into the engine bay & out underneath the vehicle, so it rises up & out the big, open-front grill instead.

It always happens to mine, every time it comes out of a car wash. I think it's very normal, water streaming off the engine compartment.

Indeed, nothing is more relaxing than smoke coming out of your hood while driving
