Default Snowboard Strapping Inside to Rollcage

So a few buddies and I will be taking a snowboarding trip in a few weeks and being as cheap as I am, we are looking for alternatives to carrying our equipment (both snowboards and ski). I was thinking about the possibility of strapping the equipment to the bottom of the roll cage, inside the jeep. Anyone know if this would work or forsee any problems with this? Also granted head room might be a little tight but hopefully we could work around that somehow.

i think you'll have better luck trying to strap it to the spare tire.

If you ride a lot I'd invest in a rack, not cheap but well worth it. I got a thule that hooks to your tow hitch -- best investment I made for the winter. And it doubles as a bike rack for the summer

Have you taken into consideration the sound bar? I think that would kind of hang too low and mess it up.

I just spent $50 on a receiver hitch and steeling a snowboard rack from my parents for the winter!

Well... There's lots of room between the road and your fuel tank.

I was looking at my Jeep (Unlimited, softtop) and it looks like there would be enough room to put them on top of the roll bar and under the top. Bindings might hang in the back seat if someone was trying to sit there.

My son's 162cm board fits in the back and we strap it to to the 'cage.

Unfortunately, i've got a hardtop and there is definitely not enough room that way. Definitely a good idea for softies though

When you say strap it to the cage, are you refering to underneath? just curious how you do this

Thanks for the help everyone, and there is lots of room between the gas tank and the road haha

yes - strapped under the sport bar, running from the rear window of the hard top to the back of the headrest of the driver's seat.
