after turning off the jeep (key out) with the doors on (and plugged in) you still have power to roll up the windows if so equiped, can still use the radio, and so on until you open the door right. then power is lost (radio turns off, etc) until key is used again.

well with the doors off is there any way to have all power killed when the key is first turned off. or do you just have to wait for it to time out.

 

just have to wait until it times out.

if you're really good and fancy, I guess there could be a way to find the right wires to trick the Jeep into thinking it still had the driver door on and hook a switch to it or something to deactivate it when the power goes off.

but that all sounds really complicated when you can either 1)wait for it to time out 2) reach up and hit the power button on the radio to turn it off.

 

30sec is all it takes....do what I do turn off the Jeep leave the radio blaring and watch the confused people look and wonder why you walk away from your Jeep with the key still in it (or so they think...silly non-Jeepers)

Ha! I had an old couple tell me the other day when I was walking into a shop that I left my keys in the ignition. I said, "Naw, the silly Jeep is just delusional and thinks it still has the doors on." They just looked at me all confused with that smile that says.. "I'm smiling because you're smiling, but I have no idea why YOU're smiling."

 

never though of that, doors are off now, can't wait till lunch now. so would you recommend rock-n-roll or death metal.

 

Anything loud will do....Its summer I like to blast CCR. I try not to blast anything with swears in it because I do not want to offend people, I just want them to look confused.

 

I choose elevator music or christmas music when i walk away from my jeep.....

supposedly there is a wayh to have it starscanned so the RAP features is completely disabled altogether....

I love it when people just stare at me like I'm the dumb one. When they look like they are about to say something, I like to beep the keyless entry. When I do, I get the "I though he left it running, but now he just locked it............Why did he lock it? He doesn't even have doors on it? Wait the radio is still on......." I LOVE IT!
