Default soft top base to sunrider conversion

Anyone do this? I called the dealer, they do have the parts for sale separately. I'm just wondering if there is any other fundamental difference I need to worry about other than the bow.

Should just bolt right up. Only difference I think are the door channels, and the top itself....

I am thinking of doing the same, do you have a list and part numbers for the conversion, one dealer that I was at told me I could not do it.

Why not just call besttop and get a price on their kits (If available yet?)

Is it a conversion kit? I didn't know about it. I am trying to save the cost of buying a whole new top, if that's my only option I'll just skip it.

The dealer didn't give me a parts list, he just said that I could buy the parts individually. He said come down and check them out, see it it can work, so that's my plan as of now.

somehow the whole sunrider vs. base top got by me when I was researching them. Seems weird to even offer a non-sunrider top.

I don't think bestop has any kits out yet..which makes absolutely no sense to me, this jeep has been out for almost 2 years...correct me if i am wrong but i think they are only making a replace-a-top (no hardware) just doesn't make sense...

When I went to the dealer they only had the sunrider soft top for the 4 door and not the 2 door. I checked with Best top and they only have the OEM from Mopar no SunRider. The dealer was no help.. Surprise.

Question for those here: Mine came with a hard top only and I just picked up a used soft top from a guy selling it off his 2007 4-door Rubicon and was wondering - how can I tell if it's the sunrider or not??? I didn't know they had a "NON-Sunrider" soft top for them??? (I've only been looking at the specs on the 4-door)

I BELIEVE that all 4 Door Unlimited soft tops are sunriders

I believe Bestop is producing the Sunriders for Mopar. So, maybe they're selling exclusively through Mopar??? It might be worth writing an email to Bestop about.

It would be an entire top. I don't know how the canvas on the base top is set up. On the sunrider, there's a crease in the plastic window channels over the doors, so that it folds back neatly. If the base model has this same crease, you may actually be able to use the stock canvas and just get a new sunrider frame and door frames for the jeep.

That's correct...
