soft top header replacement question
I put away my hardtop and installed my '07 original soft top for the summer. After I let it relax in the sun
for awhile, I noticed the header doesn't reach all the way to the windshield frame. The top header meets the windshield frame at the corners fine (where the latches are), but the header is about a quarter inch short in the middle. This is causing loud wind noise. I verified this by putting a strip of packing tape over the soft top/windshield seam and it was quiet. The soft top header isn’t proud of the windshield frame. It’s almost like it bowed back towards the rear and doesn’t match the the windshield’s contour.
I’ve read that many have replaced their soft top header with a steel one via a TSB. Did anyone have the problem I described above and have the new header fix it?
Thanks ahead,
Tom
