Default Soft top leak

In at my local Jeep dealer for the 4th time for a rear door soft top leak. They had Chrysler come out and look at it and said there was nothing they can do that this is normal for a 1/2 door soft top.
It's a 2013 Jeep with less than 8000 miles. Any one had this issue.

Sucks don't it. Welcome to the jeep lifestyle!! Wait till your throwout bearing starts going at ecactly 30,001 miles. And even though you bought what they told you was the best ever bumper to bumper 7 year extended warrany, throwout bearing 8000 miles warranty. If you took your jeep right now with the mileage you have you would have to pay!

They consider a soft top to be a normal wear item that should be replaced by you. Just like a clutch or throwout bearing. I don't believe there is any warrany on a top but I may be wrong.

But I would still put up a really good fight if I were you. Be polite but let them know that you have been a long time customer( even if you haven't). A lot of people talk to you about the jeep. And you would rather give good reviews about jeeps instead of bad. If that doesn't work I would go up the chain of command a bit. And maybe write letters and go to better business Bureau.

On second thought Replace the top now on your own and save the bbb for when you start burning a quart of oil a week.

Sorry for the bad news. And I still love my jeep.( for now!)

I have a front pass side 1/2 door window that has always leaked some. Its a plastic frame, it fits how it fits. I dont see anyway to make it much better. I never went to the dealer about it. I like my half door windows best when they are in the back or sitting in the garage... open air.

It's leaking at the top when I park on a slight slope.

Try parking the other way. My driveway is on a slight angle, when I pull in ( nose up ) it leaks. When I back in ( nose down ) it doesn't.

Sounds like a factory defect. What year is yours?

I to live in Florida and this monsoon weather has not been helping. My 2013 with less then 4,000 started leaking day 2 of getting her. She's been to the dealer 4 times they would only fix one leak at a time. Finally they had to take all the weather stripping, rubber and seals off all 4 doors and top and replace the header bar and channels to make it stop leaking. My dealer says the tops and doors are under warranty. They told me if this doesn't fix it I'm getting a new top. So make the dealership work with you if not find one that will. This weekend were suppose to get 10 inches of rain so we well see if the seals hold.

I,ve never owned a convertible ragtop...jeep,or otherwise ...that didn't leak. If the top comes off, it's gonna leak. The jeep is a rugged vehicle and the JK is the most refined wrangler yet...but it's still a rugged jeep. Love it for what it is.

I carry a towel for a rainy day

Default I hear you,

2 dr 1/2 doors here, mine leaks as well when it's dirty. Every so often, I clean up the seals with a damp rag, let it dry, then spray some silicone on the seals. It's amazing how well this works. I usually do this 4x a year/ when it starts pouring in the Jeep. I hope this will work for you.
