Default Soft top leaks

Put my soft top on Sunday, and the last couple days it has been a monsson here in upstate NY. Noticed the inside of the soft top was wet at the upper rear corners, which then leaked down onto the subwoofer, and in the opposite corner onto the carpet. Is it possible it isnt on correctly, or are the seams leaking?

I checked all the zippers and velcro, and everything was closed as tight as it could be.

Hopefully I'll be getting a new top anyways since mine came with a nice rip in it, but I'd like to get this solved if I can because who knows how long it will take Chrysler to make a decision on my top.

Thanks!

Duds,

I haven't had mine wet in the upper corners, but once I left the lower left of the rear window unzipped about 2 inches and in a heavy wind driven rain I did get some water on the inside (the side opposite of the woofer)

Does it look like the water is coming in from the side windows or the back window?

It's hard to tell. It felt and looked like it was coming in where the tp, the sides, and the back all meet in that upper corner. It might be getting past the velcro on the sides and through the zipper. It was raining very hard yesterday, so it might be possible

I imagine if it is windy enough and raining hard enough, the water will get by the velcro and zippers. Making the softop rain proof not rain resistant.

Was it a lot of water?

it was quite damp on the inside of the top, and enough to get some of the carpet damp. the top of the subwoofer was completely wet as well.

Update: finally stopped raining after two days of heavy rain. went out to my jeep (i'm at work) and noticed water on top of the front door handles inside, and along the bottom plastic parts near the floor boards. Seems like the water is getting in through the top door seals.

Ask your dealer to perform TSB 23-002-08 which essentially adds some foam to the bottom part of your removable door rail where it rests inside the body to door seal. The foam is similar to the foam that is on the corners of the hard top Freedom Panels where they also rest in the the body to door seal.
