I only have a hard top. Sometimes I wish I had a soft top to put down at night in the spring or summer, but I make do with rolling down the windows. I dont get along well with the sun, so going topless in the day is not really an option for me. I am considering doors off with the top on when it warms up, but it is hotter than Satan's armpit here in the summer, so I wont take it off.

This is my first jeep and I only got a soft top, was looking at getting a hard top for winter but, then winter hit. I live up in Alberta Canada and winter is somehjng that we deal with for at least 6 months of the year. It can get really cold up here. With the soft top on and -30 out the front seats are really to hot and the back seats are on the cold side. The worst is you can't scrape you back windows for frost. But if you put the heater on vent and point them back it clears the windows pretty quick. I've had no problems on leaking as of yet( knock on wood) and wind noise it's ok I've never been in a hard top jeep so no comparsion. If you get into negative temps alot you have to rember you can't open the rear windows. But for me I don't think I'll ever own a hard top now. I love the soft top to much. And for summer time you will have the best of both worlds. Top on if needed and no top. If you lime the shade just take out the windows and doors instant bikini top.

My hardtop sits in the garage. The defrost and wiper was nice though.
Once it gets warmer I'll roll up the back window for the season and I'll be able to use my rear view mirror again.

When the rear window gets dirty now I just go out to the gas station and wash it. Did'nt want to for fear of scratching it but now that fear is over, they are all scratched up accecpt the fact that it is going to scratch and go with a soft top.

Soft top, but from April to October even it is in the garage
I love driving topless in the rain (just wish they had an inside windsheild wiper)

Hard tops are unnecessary here in Cali.

Funny though; my soft top leaks THROUGH the material if it rains hard enough.

My last jeep was the first jeep I didn't have a soft top. hard top and safari top only.

Takes me about 3 minutes to put the hard top on or off of that jeep, I have 2 ratcheting straps that hook to the roof of my garage. 2 clips, 4 bolts, a couple ratchets on the straps, and drive out from under it. Much faster than my bestop on my earlier jeep, but if you are caught out in the rain, you can't put it up (though I keep the safari top under the seat, which is fine for anything less than severe storms)

my jk has a hard top as well, but I'm looking to find a soft top for it also.
