Default Soft top rear window

Is it possible to just roll up the rear window and let the top down on a 4dr? It sure would make things alot easier.

Yes. You can use the 2 elastic snap straps included with your Jeep (similar to old TJ). You can then fold down the top like normal, just taking care to make sure the rear window swings inside the tailgate metal.

Having said that...I don't recommend it as it will scratch and bend the crap out of your window. You will eventually tear a hole or scrape it up to the point it will be difficult to see out of.

Buy the storage wrap from Bestop or Cloverpatch and your windows will be nice and safe.

I did try it and scratched the you know what out of the window. I can still see but it has line scratches where the bottom rubbed and the bar on top. Don't recommend.

The rear window zipper is all screwed up on mine so I can't take it off. Well I can, but then probably wouldn't be able to get it back on. I just unzip it as far as it will go (just past the curves at the top) and then lay it flat along the back when I put the top down. The plastic hasn't gotten torn or scraped so far.

Been doing it to mine and also storing it when its completely off like this for 4yrs. Rear window doesn't look too bad at all. I do try to knock the dust off and roll it really tight though.

I've done it for all of my Wranglers and a scratched rear window is worth the benefit. My JK window is still in almost perfect shape anyway.

i just went to local fabric store spent 10$- 12$ on a bunch of black felt. lay one piece down take your rear window out of its channel then lay another piece down then a side window then repeat. i cut mine with a foot or so extra so zippers dont make full contact to the windows. then i roll it up like a sleeping bag and tie with some rope. that way i always have my windows with me incase it rains. when you take em out they look like paper scrolls but i have been doing it for three years and my windows still look great.

I do the same except with some fabric that I found...I always have my windows out and they are in great shape. It takes maybe 30 seconds to wrap them up and put them in the trunk area in case of rain.
