Default Soft top strap came off!

The nylon strap that holds the rear support bar to the middle support bar (2-door top) has came off the two cheap rivets holding it on. I guess I will be going back to the dealer Friday. The design is really cheap, no reinforcement or gromets in the strap. I am thinking of self tapping screws and washers if the dealer puts the same crappy rivets in.

oh geeze. Didnt anyone look at these designs before they produced them? good lord some of them are worse than bad.

i'm going to have to look mine over, i use my top alot now, it goes up & down several times a week at least. If there is a flaw, i will likely find it before others will. Potential problem spots noted. Thanks for the heads up.

lol just as i was wondering what the hell you were talking about, i go to take my soft top off as its a beautiful day out and.... the exact god damn thing breaks.

add to the fact the rear clips continually pop off... this soft top is terrible.

hmk21, are you having problems with the rear window plastic brackets staying clipped to the body also?

I am thinking about the bikini, duster, windjammer combo, but there is a huge gap around the windjammer. I can't wait until someone makes a weatherproof system!

I had that same thing happen on my Rubicon. 30 minutes at the Service Department and they had me fixed up. It would have been quicker, but the service guy riveted it back on with the strap on the underside of the bar the 1st time he fixed it.

Did they replace the whole strap or just the rivets? The holes are stretched out and will probably pull off the same size rivets.
