Default Spacers or wheels

3 questions I have herd that spacers put more stress on components because it pushes the tire out which moves weight out but new Wheels also push out the tire so wouldn't it also put stress because ur moving out weight too

Are they safe I hear alot of good and some bad if I was gonna run them what should I look out for

Also any one have a pic of spacers on stock 16 steelies

Spacers are safe as long as you follow the installation directions, and check the torque on them periodically, which is every 3k miles for me. I would go with Spidertrax. Mine have been perfect

If the specific wheel you are looking at comes in the proper backspacing that works with the tire as well, I'd go that route instead of the spacers. One less thing to check on our rigs (granted, its not hard to check/torque since you should be properly rotating your tires as well and the tire will already be removed.)

They add the same amount of stress as aftermarket wheels with equal back-spacing.

Agreed - BUT, My spacers cost me $50 ( used from a forum member ). That is 10 times cheaper than wheels.

To each his own. As for me, no offense, but I wouldn't buy a used set of spacers (regardless if it was from a forum member or not). They are a vital part that keeps the tire on and essentially won't kill you. I'd go for brand new or proper backspaced wheels. used pair of grab handles, floor mats......sure.....not spacers....just wouldn't trust it or feel safe.

Easy coming from me tho when I have 4.25" BS on my black rocks...

I ran spacers on my stock Moabs that pushed them out to 4.5" backspacing.
I later got new wheels with 4.5" of backspacing.

There is no difference between them really.
The only thing about spacers is that some tire stores will not touch them and they need to be checked every now and then for torque settings.

I did notice that my 4.5" backspaced wheels did run a little "quieter" on-road than the spacers.
However, the spacers are VERY strong and a LOT of people here wheel on them hard with no issues.
