Good to know. I've lived with it this long and didn't really pay attention to it any more.

Should've read this thread first, now my cabin reeks of WD-40 and ignorance. Same issue here, '07 with 50k and the squeak is there on in and out. Instead of listening, I tried to feel where the squeak came from. From what I can tell, it feels like the pivot right before it goes into the boot before the firewall. I'm going to try some industrial grease when I get home, see how that works.

I too have the squeak ! 2012 , 1000 miles
On it , I'm on the same theory as you my friend ! Either the hinge or the boot ...
SOLUTION = blast some jeep tunes gotta use that infinity system I ordered some how ..... But I think it's just the harmless hinge !

Nice to see the throw bearings still suck. Only real solution is aftermarket.

Is the squeak internal or external. Mine has two squeaks/creaks, one from the spring on the clutch pedal itself, and one from the slave cylinder/ball and socket interface.

I have cleaned and regressed the cup on the clutch yoke twice now, and the creaking goes away until I wheel again, or at least see mud. It's probably just dirt in the grease, there isn't that great of a seal between the slave cylinder and the bell housing.

When I hopped into the jeep after work yesterday after I had sprayed the pivot over lunch the squeak was gone. I was pretty stoked, until about 10 mins into my ride home I could feel it again when shifting. Turned down the tunes, sure enough we were back to squeaking. Fail .

Try white lithium grease or silicone grease, I've found those to work the best. You have to spray it inside the spring.

My squeak is definetly in the cab. For now I will live with it since my music normally drowns it out, I'll chalk it up to the Jeep needing more break in time.
