Default Squeel or whistle 1500 to 2000 RPM

Anyone else out there have a brake like sound on acceleration between 1500 and 2000 rpms? I am concerned this might be the clutch disc tsb, anyone have that replaced and what did it sound like before hand?

This only occurs on light throttle at the stated rpms, it is a brand new 09 jk with 1500 miles and been doing it sice like 2 days after i got it home from the dealer. At first i thought it was only when i pushed the clutch in but i can reproduce the sound everytime with just slightly increasing the throttle while driving in the rmp range, all gears except 1st.

Any ideas this is driving me crazy? Dealer says it is upper plenum intake manifold, but this sounds more like a chirp or squeal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I hear a high pitched noise, too, on my '09 X. I haven't gotten as specific as you have on when it does it, but when I am riding around without the top, I can hear something that sounds similar to a brake squeal. However, it doesn't change if I tap the brakes.

I'm with jkjewler... I have the same noise, and have for the past 5 months. One dealer said they dont hear it (bullsh@t) and the second did mention something about the intake manifold. I haven't been able to leave it with them for a proper diagnosis so I cant be positive. But I also did have the clutch TSB done and this came after it, so I personally lean towards a pilot bearing misalignment...

mine does it too. From what I've been told by others that have the noise, its just an induction noise. Most say it gets worse when they put a CAI on. That kinda leads me to believe they are right. My guess is its the air moving over the throttle blade and it makes the high pitched noise just because of the way its shaped. Mines done it from day one and I havn't had any problems yet with the way it runs.

I had a low speed chirping/squeal after a few thousand miles, in my case both front wheels bearings needed to be replaced. It was independent of throttle though, only noticeable at lower speeds, especially when driving next to something like a guardrail or building.

I have tried the dealer to no satisfaction at all. Any ideas on how I can isolate the sound to determine if it is coming from the manifold / throttle body area or the transmission?

is it only at speed or will it reproduce with the truck parked?

its called a throttle body whine/whistle. it gets louder when you put an intake on since there is less air restriction therefore noise restriction as well. you should be able to make it come and go in the 1500-2000 rpm range by varying your throttle. try to hold your throttle steady when you hear it, and if it stays then its the throttle body. its not a problem besides being a nuisance, but there is not a fix yet AFAIK

Exactly, I've had to learn to just deal with it on mine. Get a louder exhaust and you'll hardly notice it

It only makes the sound while moving, I can not reproduce it while sitting still. When it does make the sound it only last for a couple of seconds at most. I have yet not been able to make it whistle or squeal constantly....although i it is easy to make the sound over and over.
