Oct 06 build date here - stalled once so far. Although I'm not sure if the build date has any bearing on the problem. I'm hearing guys with Feb and Mar 07 build dates driving home from the dealership and having the engine cutout on them. I've emailed both Jeep and NHSTA about this issue. Hopefully more people will send in emails and/or call to get the ball rolling on DC researching the issue. Don't get me wrong I love the JK, I think it just needs a little tweaking in the electrical/computer dept.

Default Why That Date....

I only choose that date because I believe February was around the time the TSB Flash solution was released or shared within this forum. I was thinking that perhaps if that was around the time of the proposed solution; maybe, that was when DC discovered and corrected the issue in production.

I understand that's a lot of assumptions; however, my thought was if this poll showed that only early production JK owners were expereincing this bug it might help put our minds at ease that some of these bugs are actually being worked out.

Sorry to all those who are having to deal with this issue on their new vehicles!

There are several Tsb's to flash the computer. None of them to my knowledge are for the "stall bug" Which tsb are you referring to?

No one particular flash. My enterpretation was that those who had the flash done were no longer expereinceing the stall bug. Perhaps this is not at all the case. Is your JK a victim of stall bug? If so, have you still expereinced it after the flash?

I did have a flash and literally on the way home it stalled. I had hoped that a flash would resolve the stall bug issue as well as many other people even though the flash does not state that it will. It does not.

In the siggy. Born on 9/06

had it stall a couple times, had it flashed. Yup, that did it, had it stall about 5-6 more times since.

~Good Job DC, you got it! that made it stall. now switch that 1 to a zero to disable that random option.

I find it hard to believe that only early builds are affected. I think the later builds just haven't stall YET. My reasoning is that if the issue was corrected in the later builds, that would mean that DC is aware of the issue and has corrected it. If that were the case, they would have issued a recall or at least a TSB to fix the early builds. Since that has not happened, it leads me to believe that they don't know what the problem is, so they are continuing to produce JK's with the same specs.

Added: I also had the flash, and it stalled about 4 months after the flash.

From just reading the threads on the the various jeep boards, it seems to happen every 1500-2500 miles. Just curious (and this may be a topic for another thread) but has anyone who has experienced the stall not been able to restart the vehicle. In other words, have you ended up getting stranded somewhere because of it?

I really hope they get this thing fixed before someone gets in an accident.
