Default Steering isn't Smooth

My steering isn't smooth anymore. While turning at speeds below 15 miles per hour my steering wheel doesn't feel smooth returning to center. It feels like its choppy. Last weekend I went off-roading, nothing hard, just a muddy field basically.... There wasn't a lot of mud under the jeep but maybe there was enough to mess something up or does this sound like symptoms of something else? The jeep is pretty clean now. I power washed under the jeep twice now.

Maybe u bent something, or maybe something is loose... Might be an alignment issue..

Front axle shaft u-joints binding. My steering has the exact same issue and they're replacing the u-joints under warranty.

U joints eh? I think I might be leaning toward that myself. I checked my power steering and it seems to be fine. I do recall turning onto the pavement and accidentally being in 4H for about 30 feet. Only noticed that I was in 4H because it was binding a bit. Maybe I screwed them up then. the jeep also has about 50000 miles now. I hear peoples u joints are starting to go before then? Correct me if im wrong

Also to me this really doesn't sound like the steering clunk the a lot of people are getting since I don't heat any noises with it. Just the steering wheel not turning smoothly.
