my OEM SS is leaking likely due to the relo bracket making it mounted upside down. so I'm in the market for a new one. suggestions? cheap one?

I have the BDS dual steering stabilizer and am quite happy with it, though it is mounted a bit low, but I would rather break their stuff than factory stuff. Other companies make them as well, and they probably work just fine as well. I can't see there being too many performance differences between manufacturers.

Know about waht?? My stearing stabilizer works fine. If you just want to replace it there are plenty out there. Otherwise I would leave it until it needs replacing.

There are three upgrades that come immediately to mind:

1. Replace it with an after-market. I did, but not until my OEM SS bent. I picked up a TF and it is 50% bigger than the SS that came on the '07s. I've read that the '10 SSs are much larger. Regardless, even when bent, I didn't notice it except when I was crawling around under the Jeep and saw it. Otherwise, it ran fine (see the link at 3 below for more on that). Moral: The OEM SS is probably just fine for 99.9% of us until it breaks.

2. Relocate it: Mine was when it bent. So, I don't know how it did come to be bent. But, I do recommend the Woods relocation kit:

3. Finally, some ambitious folks feel that they need dual SSs. Actually, they probably don't (except for aesthetic reasons). Here is Wayoflife's excellent discussion of the topic:

My stabilizer went bad at 13000 mls and would have been replaced under warranty, but looking at the possibility of going back to the dealer every 4 months or so to do this I put a BDS unit on instead. You'll laugh when you look at the difference between the two, no wonder they go bad so soon.

FYI, someone in another thread posted that they got the new, larger OEM model when theirs went bad.

Well thanks guys.
I heard about a new oem larger, or upgraded steering stabilizer, it's not really a concern, I just seem to have found that the one I have anyway, is pretty useless. I was already thinking of going with old man emu.

And yeah, those bds are definitely impressive, I've seen a couple of the dual stabilizer setups by them, to each their own.

Check out TeraFlex's SS. Easy install, beefy compared to stock and just as good as what else is out there.

Here is my write-up.....https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-write-ups-39/teraflex-steering-stabalizer-install-write-up-102111/

I just called my dealer's parts dept. The new & improved damper is P/N 52060058AF. It sells for $62. Jeep also updated the bracket (another $62) and hardware (another $40).

I'm going to give it one try of having mine upgraded under warranty. The problem is that in order to get the SS relocation off and put it back to stock first, I'd have to unbend my bent up brackets!

Or I'll just buy an aftermarket one for $40 or so and stick it on.
