Default Steering Wheel centering Help Please

The steering wheel got knocked off center in a minor bump and I am in the process of straightening it. If it is off center will it cause the BAS/ESP light to come on and stay on. It sort of make sense to me because I understand that the computer compares the gps direction with the steering wheel angle to anticipate a skid. When it is constantly like that it assumes something is wrong and shuts off the ESP program (leaving the light on solid) I was hoping someone smarter than me might confirm that (or tell me I'm full of @@it) and maybe know the tolerance of the steering wheel center point.
Thanks

Yes it will cause your esp light to come on. There is a writeup telling how to centre the steering.

Funny i saw this thread. I brought my Rubi in today because I thought the aligmment was off as it was moving to the right when the steering wheel was centered. Turns out, my wheel was off center so the service area easily fixed it. If I had seen this thread first, it would have saved a trip to the dealer for me. At least it was a warranty fix and I got some updated flash of my NAV system that was part of a recall or something .
