Default Sterring wheel off...

I got sucked into some deep mud on the trail and I had had to yank the wheel back and forth pretty hard to get out. i didnt hit anything just lots of mud and when i drove home the steering wheel is not straight any more. the jeep drives perfect but its annoying as hell to see the steering wheel off center while i drive straight. is there any way to adjust that? any suggestions let me know. thanks

That must suck.

I think you should take it to the dealer, as the steering wheel may have been loose before you took it through the mud.

Naaah, he may be right...my steering wheel is very loose, I can turn it all the way to the left or right. Hell, it's even more so with the engine running.

hmmmm....well if it goes out of alignment that easy Ill have to get it re-aligned monthly. I just wasnt sure if there was anything that was in the steering column that could be loose like FR said. you shouldnt be able to wreck the alignment by turning the steering wheel in the mud but I guess anythings possible. at this point Ill look to see if there are other options for the steering wheel and worse to worse Ill realign it after the lift kit and tires next month. thanks

btw, if you figure something out let me know buster.

I just had a 2" lift installed on my Rubi. I took it to the dealer to have an alignment but still felt like the steering was off. I was reading through the threads and found this:

Look towards the bottom at step 51

I was able to center it on my own without going back to the dealer
