I was under the assumption that 3.73's were not available in '07, but I test drove an '07 yesterday and in 2nd gear @ 2,000 rpm, I was going 20mph. This would suggest 3.73 gears by the calculations of the spreadsheet I'm looking at.

Were 3.73's available in '07?

 

weird...all '07s that I knew of came with either X or Sahara 3.21's without tow package, and Rubi or X and Sahara with tow package 4.10's... I didn't never hear of any '07s coming with no 3.73's but....who knows?

 

Don't know about the 2drs, however the unlimited's as I recall came with 3.21 or the upgraded 4.10. Again as I recall any vehicle that was ordered with the trailer towing package came with 4.10's. One could also upgrade any unlimited to 4.10's without the towing package.
I do believe the Rubicon came only with 4.10's.

Only 3.21's (6 speed only) or 4.10's for 2007. ALL autos got the 4.10's. 6-speeds got them with the tow package, or as a $50 upgrade. Obviously all Rubi's got 4.10's no matter what.

Sucks about the 2WD JK per other thread.

 

really I have an 07 auto. I just went out to look for a diff tag but saw nothing... so you are saying my 07 Sahara (w/ tow) has 4.10s? that is a good thing.

 

Yes it does, and yes it is (a good thing).

 

yup all automatic 2007 JK's should be running 4.10 gears.
i got lucky when i got my JK

 

sweet! I was holding off on the lift and tires until I got a few bucks to regear at the same time... with 4.10s I'll be ok on 35s for a while. Lift and tires next week! woohoo! Part 2 will be 5.13s and ARB lockers front and rear

 

I have an 07' 2dr X, w/ auto and stock 4:10s.....no tow package.
