Rubbing on the brake line. Makes different sounds, but that's what it is. Not to sure how I'm gonna rectify it yet...

This forum is amazing and I have learned alot about maintaining my jeep. Thanks to all who post and share all the valuable info on this site. I can't afford to get gouged by the dealer for easy work.

I have 265/70/17 (slightly smaller than oem 255/75/17)no lift. Just noticed today drivers side front tire rubs the hard rubber that's around the hard brake line. The round rubber cover is rubbed flat, not to the brake line but getting there. What's the best way to get that line out of the way? It's rubbing alot and I need to take care of it.

I put this in the back of my mind. I know there is a recall for the brake line hitting something. Not sure if it's rubbing or pinching that the recall is for. I just don't give her full turn unless I have to. Maybe it'll get warm out again someday

Just replaced my stock 255/17 with cepek mud countries 265/17 with no rubbing. If u didn't have any rubbing with the stock 255's then their should be NO reason why the 265's should rub. 255/17 - 32 inch and 265/17 - 31.6 inches and both should have the sane tire width of 10.4 inches.
