Living in Denver maybe it is getting hot. With the mountains. There is a lot of heat build up
in the rear pushing you down or more like up the road. Did you change tire size?
When you do the gear swap in the diffs that will help with the heat.

Even in this case its not a manufacture defect,

And I would be concerned if you are hitting stuff big enough to A hit the diff on your JK and B heavy enough to cause your diff cover to leak on a free way.

I do not recall hitting my diffs on anything.

When I regear, I will re-cover and put in synthetic oil.
