Default stock driveshaft swap

i tore the boot on my front drive shaft and plan on swapping it out with another stocker (thanks BoneDoc).

Here's my question: can i just swap the shaft itself & leave the connections to the differential and T-Case? or do i need to pull those parts too? i'm GUESSING i could just remove the 8 bolts on the t-Case and the 4 bolts on the Diff and i'm good to go--right?

or is it not so simple?? i'm looking at the write ups on aftermarket replacements for guidance..

anyone know what i torque them down to?

Thanks
Steve

Go look around on the write up sections because I believe there is some drive shaft installation stuff. Also there is an entire list of torque specs of all kinds of bolts on the JK good luck!

Correct, it is a direct swap. You will un-bolt the old shaft and simply bolt the new one in its place.

If/when you go to an aftermarket double cardan with yokes, you will need to remove the flanges and install the yokes.

In my opinion keep the one with the tore boot for spare. U didn't need to swap it just for a tore boot IMHO, I tore mine about 2 years ago and I still have it, runs fine so far

Also my guess is you tore it while flexing because it scarped into the skid plate?...so unles you fix this is going to happen again. Good luck
